Privacy

Updated 2 November 2026.

Notchline collects no data. Nothing you type or measure leaves your phone.

The app

Notchline has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no ads and no tracking. It asks for no permissions. Your jobs and settings are kept in one file inside the app on your phone.

The pitch gauge reads the phone's motion sensor (the accelerometer) while the gauge is open, to measure the angle of a rafter or a roof. The readings stay on the phone and are not stored; only the pitch you choose to use goes into the job.

Backups, job cards and PDF sheets leave the phone only when you share or save them yourself, through the share sheet or the file picker, to a place you choose. We never receive them.

Purchases

Pro is bought through the App Store or Google Play. The store handles the payment; the app only learns that Pro is active and keeps that on the phone.
