Privacy policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

Short version: Sojournal collects no data. Everything you enter stays on your phone, and the app never asks for your location.

What we collect

Nothing. Sojournal has no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. It contains no third-party code that collects data.

What stays on your phone

Your days, places, rules, notes, evidence files, people and settings are saved in the app’s private storage on your phone. We can’t see them and we have no copy.

Location

Sojournal does not ask for location permission and cannot read your location. You record where you were yourself.

Photos

Photos are optional and only read when you pick them with the system photo picker. Sojournal then reads the date and place stored in those photos, on your phone, to suggest days. A suggestion is not saved until you confirm it. The app does not ask for access to your whole photo library and uploads nothing.

Backups and exports

A backup is a file (JSON, plus an optional zip of your evidence) that you save where you choose: Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, a computer, an email to yourself. CSV exports and the accountant pack PDF work the same way. Those services handle the file under their own privacy policies. We never receive it.

Network

Sojournal makes no network requests of its own. The only exception is purchases: buying or restoring Pro is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their privacy policies. We don’t receive your payment details. The app only gets the purchase status from the store and saves it on your phone.

Permissions

The only permission Sojournal asks for is notifications, for reminders and rule alerts. They are scheduled on your phone; no push service is involved. Face ID or fingerprint for the app lock is checked by your phone’s system; the app never sees the data.

Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to answer you. We don’t share them or add you to a mailing list. Ask at any time and we delete them.

This website

This site sets no cookies, has no analytics and loads nothing from other servers. The Schengen calculator runs in your browser; what you type is not sent or stored, and it is gone when you close the page. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may log technical data such as IP addresses for security, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Children

Sojournal is made for adults who track residency and travel days. It is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone.

Your rights

We hold no app data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. To delete everything in the app, uninstall it: the data exists only on your phone and in backup files you saved. For emails you sent us, contact us and we delete them. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above. Contact: hello@mufatech.com
